Indigenous Program
JINGERI 👋🏾
Yogaventures is proudly Indigenous-owned by Emma Ceolin, a Yirrganydji and Wulgurukaba woman living on Yirrganydji Country (Coolangatta). As a social enterprise, Yogaventures exists not just to teach yoga, but to contribute to systems change — with deep respect, cultural integrity, and a long-term vision for collective wellbeing.
We pay our deepest respects to Country, to Elders past and present, and to the ongoing sovereignty of First Nations peoples — the oldest living culture in the world. We recognise the wisdom, resilience and relational ways of being that continue to guide this land and its peoples. And we hold with reverence the truth that no healing is possible without justice.

YOGA ON COUNTRY
Cultural awareness is not a checkbox here — it’s core to how we practice, teach, and show up. Every teacher in the Yogaventures collective is trained in cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and the understanding that yoga on this land is always yoga on Country.
We honour the ancient lineage of yoga, which traces back over 5,000 years to the Indian subcontinent. While yoga is not a religion, it is a sacred tradition — and we believe in practicing with respect, awareness and gratitude.
We acknowledge that teaching yoga in Australia carries a responsibility: to honour the roots of this practice and the Country it’s taught on.
At Yogaventures, we walk in both worlds. We blend ancient tools for healing the nervous system with a fierce commitment to cultural integrity, systems thinking, and social justice.
OUR INIDGENOUS PROGRAM
As part of our social mission, Yogaventures offers an Indigenous Program where we make spaces in our offerings — including classes, workshops, and teacher trainings — freely available to mob.
We’re not here to offer “solutions” to the complexity of systemic injustice. But we are here to show up, hold space, and extend the tools we know can support community-led healing — even in small ways.
We offer:
-
Complimentary spots in our online programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
-
Collaborations with other First Nations-led orgs and facilitators
-
Culturally safe, trauma-aware teaching for mob
-
Ongoing learning, reflection and refinement in how we serve
If you’re mob and interested in accessing our offerings through this program, reach out to us — we’d love to welcome you.
