PSOAS RELEASE: MUSCLE OF THE SOUL WORKSHOP
MUSCLE OF THE SOUL
There's a good reason why the psoas is named the 'the muscle of the soul' in some spiritual philosophies and plays a role in every Asana (posture). Aside from being one of the major stabilisers of the spine and core, affecting our flexibility, strength, range of motion and joint mobility, it's a deeply instinctive and emotionally-responsive muscle intimately linked to our stress response (fight or flight). As extreme as it sounds, this is the one muscle in the body that has the ability to affect many other organs and systems - physical, emotional and mental when out of balance. Our fast-paced modern lifestyle, which includes sitting for long periods, is the major contributor to a chronically-constricted psoas which leads to back pain, poor digestion and anxiety.
Join Ashleigh Green for an afternoon of learning how to care for and gently allowing the psoas (and yourself) to unravel in the most beautiful way.
